Style Inspiration: Fall

As the summer season comes to an end and the beginning of my favorite season will soon be upon us. I love everything about Fall...the leaves change colors, a crisp cool breeze, fashion trends change, and family time during the holidays. Today I am going to share some photos that I have been looking at that is getting me in the mind set of fall fashion trends.

Rainy Day

This morning a woke up to a nice surprise...Rain! For going on almost four months Houston has not seen a drop of rain. It has been non-stop "need to use less water" on every local news channel. Well, finally we got what we have been needing for some time now!

I personally love rainy days. They make me sleepy but with a good cup of iced coffee, a blanket, and a book I would be good to go. For now, I will just have to take the iced coffee while I sit in my office staring out the windows on the water covered streets.

Anne Hathaway is Awesome!

This definitely made my day! I didn't expect this to come out of someone who is always so sweet...it was a nice surprise though.

Currently Loving...

J.Crew's Fall/Winter ad campaign! These pieces are simple, full of color, and just what I need for fall this year. I must saw that black and white take up a good portion of my closet. Looking at these photos is making me rethink that maybe I need some big statement pieces in these colors instead of having, oh I don't know...15 black winter coats.

I hope you enjoy and are as excited about 2011 Fall Fashion as I am!

Love this color combo

My new 'must have' bag!

Thinking of investing in the red winter coat

These shoes are amazing!

Aunt Withdrawals!

I am a beloved Aunt who misses her niece and nephew like crazy. Living four hours away from them isn't easy knowing that two weeks ago my 11 month old niece was starting to want to try to walk on her own and by the time her birthday comes around in September I am sure she will be walking like a big girl. Every time I see her she has grown leaps and bounds. I remember when I would go visit and my, almost four year old nephew, wouldn't understand what my sister and I would be talking about and now we have to make sure he isn't around if we want to talk about 'adult' topics. I love knowing that when I get to their house he yells out my name and runs to me with the biggest hug!

I usually try to visit once every two months but it seems like that isn't enough! Next thing I know he will be to cool to hug his Aunt let alone be excited when I visit.  I cherish every moment I get with them but if only I could convince them to move back to Houston or my husband to move up to Dallas. I can say that neither of those will happen. Ha-Ha.

Sometimes I feel silly because I can't even imagine how mothers' feel. I am just his Aunt and I get so sad when it's time for me to come back home. Knowing that in a few years he will be in middle school, playing sports, and having girl friends makes me think he won't be my sweet little munchkin any more...he will be all grown up.

Seeing how I am missing them like crazy I thought I would give a little shout out to my little munchkins that I miss so much. These are just some photos over the last few years...enjoy!

Greatest Tournament!

It's 14 Days in counting until the opening day of the US Open Grand Slam! As a lover of the game since I was 9 years old, I am a little biast. I have played many tournaments in my day and I have to say that the Us Open in NYC is by far the best grand slam to attend. Of course, this is what I hear.He-He.

These are my two favorite players and hoopefully they will come out as champions this year!

1950's Fall Fashion in 2011

In June the fall 2011 Ad Campaigns came and there is a striking resemblance in all most all of them. It seems to be that the 50’s & 60’s inspired clothing has returned! This era is my personal favorite…the clothes are feminine but still crisp and streamlined. I came across a post from Look Linger Love, one of my daily reads that helped inspire me to create my own blog, which had photos from the new Banana Republic Limited Edition line.

Looking at these photos certainly makes me wish these triple digit days get out of here and bring some cold weather. Seeing how I live in Texas this will not be happening for some time which leaves me with imagination and day dreaming.

What do you think of Fall Fashion?

Sunday Bliss = Deciding Factor

Its official my blog, DylanDrake is now open for business!

Sunday’s are usually my laziest, lounge around all day kind of day. Of course there is my infamous “To-Do” list that I make that includes grocery shopping, finishing the laundry, hitting the gym, and making an easy, stress free dinner for me and the hubs. Despite all of those things today felt a little odd. I don’t know maybe it was the lack iced coffee that I make every day at 2:30 that had me thinking about everything in my life.

After contemplating for the better part of the day I came to a realization that I can’t sit around and wait for something to happen…I have to create it. I probably have a good 20 blogs that I look at religiously and this is something that I love doing. So here it is my very own blog. I have toyed around with the idea for over a year and now here it is becoming a reality.

DylanDrake will be about everything that goes on in my life that inspires me…Fashion, Coffee, Love and Everything in Between. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you stay awhile, and Welcome!

*My supportive hubs who gave me the extra motivation to start my own blog*
